The decision was taken by the ICC after receiving a complaint from the Indian Cricket Board. The 36-year-old Ponting also accepted the level 1 charge following the instruction of the ICC. As per the level 1 charge of the cricket, Ponting has to pay 50% money from his match as fine.
The team has also apologised for the incident. Ponting has agreed to pay for the damage due to his brief moment of frustration.
The incident came into notice after the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) complained about Ponting after the match in Ahmedabad. The GCA had said that he damaged a TV set by throwing his glove at the device after he was run out for 28. Even though, no damage was found from outside, picture was not coming properly.
